Y-107 RAISES $869,004 TO HELP KIDS
OF
ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL
(NEW YORK, NY, FEBRUARY 14, 2000) - New Country Y-107
is proud to announce the grand total pledged during Y-107's Third
Annual St. Jude Radiothon was $869,004!
The 39-hour live Radiothon, which ran from Friday,
February 11th at 6am through Saturday, February 12th at 9pm at
Woodbridge Center Mall in Woodbridge, New Jersey, benefited St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital, America's premiere pediatric
cancer research hospital.
Highlights of the Y-107 St. Jude Radiothon included
live performances by Kenny Rogers and Keith Urban and phone calls
from many country superstars including Clint Black, Faith Hill,
John Michael Montgomery, Martina McBride, Travis Tritt, Jo Dee
Messina and Lonestar. Surprising the Y-107 DJ's with their generosity
during the event were Clint Black and Kenny Rogers, both who
were inspired to donate $1000 for the cause.
Y-107's 2000 total of $869,004 marks a 21% increase
from the 1999 Radiothon total of $718,379 and brings the total
amount of money raised by Y-107 for St. Jude Hospital in the
past three years to $2,013,441.
Y-107 listeners can look forward to Y-107's Fourth
Annual St. Jude Radiothon, to be held in February 2001!
New Country Y-107 is a Quadrocast on 107.1 FM consisting
of WYNY-FM (New York), WWXY-FM (Long Island) and WWYY-FM and
WWZY-FM (New Jersey).
